Something about human nature draws us upwards. Maybe it is the result of our evolution over centuries, the years of climbing up the food chain and years of trying to dominate one another. When small children are climbing around in the climbing structure, the littlest ones seem to have trouble going down. It isn’t that they can’t physically get down, but more like the lightness of their spirits prevent them from climbing down. They start heading down the climbing structure but somewhere in the middle they unintentionally sort of bubble up again.
I am making slow but steady progress on my Great State Quilt square for New Hampshire. It would be much easier if my sewing machine hadn’t kicked the bucket while I was scrambling to finish Christmas presents last month. I am trying to have the most productive week ever to make up for the past few (lovely, though they were) weekends of lounging around re-watching Lost and such. As a result I drank black tea much too late and find myself sitting up with my computer at midnight, wide awake.
